In 1992, A Place to Grow was founded by the South County Hospital in collaboration with Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) of Rhode Island. Despite its association with the hospital and being located in close proximity to the hospital’s campus, APTG was a separate nonprofit organization from the hospital. After the VNS relinquished their connection with APTG in 1995, the hospital was left as the sole promoter. The hospital subsequently required APTG to relocate in 1999 their operation as the hospital was expanding and needed the space. In 2002, A Place to Grow finally moved from the hospital location to their present one on High Street, Wakefield,RI. | ||
